Post-doctoral researcher in bioinformatics processing and statistical analysis of omics data

 

•    In the context of the PsyCARE project (www.psy-care.fr), our team explores the molecular underpinnings of neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders, such as psychotic disorders, schizophrenia and more specifically the processes underlying the emergence of psychosis in vulnerable subjects. 


•    We are recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary project in Epigenomics of Psychiatric Disorders using multi-omics approaches with the aim of identifying new biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets.
The position is based at the IPNP, renowned for its expertise in translational psychiatry and neuroscience. The team works in a collaborative environment, within a national and international network involved in major consortia. The candidate will have access to cutting-edge technological platforms and unique clinical resources.

Profil recherché

Main Activities    

•    Ensure the collection, processing, and analysis of omics data for psychiatry projects
•    Work on several types of data simultaneously (microarrays, DNA-seq, RRBS, WGS) in genomics and epigenomics
•    Analyze data from human cohorts and animal models.
•    Identify molecular signatures associated with clinical phenotypes in psychiatry and the emergence of psychotic disorders

Associated Activities    

•    Collaborate with national and international teams
•    Write scientific articles and disseminate results (conferences, seminars) as well as grant applications

Specific Requirements or Constraints    

•    Working on a computer screen
•    Interaction with different teams and professions (clinicians, biologists, IT specialists)

Knowledge/Expertise:

•    Computer techniques for collecting, analyzing, and processing omics data, particularly genomic and epigenomic data
•    Experience or general knowledge in biology, especially genome biology
•    Programming languages (R and/or Python, bash)

Skills:

•    Processing genomic or epigenomic data
•    Programming in various computing environments, including on a server or computing cluster; proficiency in the Linux environment
•    Ensuring the quality, relevance, and reproducibility of analytical tools and results
•    Writing publications. Sharing knowledge and using presentation techniques (international conferences)

Interpersonal Skills:

•    Ability to interact closely with team researchers and collaborators
•    Staying abreast of technological advancements
•    Working as part of a team

Required Experience  :

  2 to 4 years    Fields:  Bioinformatics or Neurosciences


Required Education Level or Diploma    

•    PhD in Bioinformatics or Neurosciences


Required Languages    

•    English language: written and spoken (minimum level B2)

Type    CDD 1 year renewable
Salary    Between €2,997.20 and €3,402.84 gross per month depending on experience
Annual leave 32 and  12 RWT (reduced working time) : 44 days

Envisaged Start Date : December 2026
