À propos du poste
The successful candidate will join the laboratory of Prof. Roméo Ricci at IGBMC (CNRS UMR 7104, Inserm U 1258, Illkirch), an internationally recognised research institute with state-of-the-art core facilities in imaging, genomics, proteomics and animal experimentation.
The project addresses the regulation and physiological function of the NLRP3 inflammasome, a central sensor of innate immunity and a major therapeutic target in inflammatory and metabolic disorders. The successful candidate will combine preclinical mouse models, pharmacological modulation and molecular analysis of inflammatory and intracellular signalling pathways to dissect how NLRP3 activation shapes physiological and pathological outcomes in vivo.
We are looking for a highly motivated researcher holding a PhD in physiology, pharmacology, immunology or a related biomedical field, with solid experience in preclinical rodent models and molecular techniques. The successful candidate will work with a high degree of autonomy, will be first author of the resulting publications, and will be actively supported in applying for competitive postdoctoral fellowships (EMBO, Marie Skłodowska-Curie, Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale).
The position is offered for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Working language is English. Applications should include a CV, a brief statement of research interests and the contact details of two referees.

Main Activities |
· Design, conduct and analyse in vivo studies in mouse models addressing NLRP3 inflammasome function and its physiological consequences · Perform pharmacological modulation experiments (NLRP3 inhibitors, acute and chronic dosing paradigms, dose-response designs) · Carry out multidimensional phenotyping of mouse models, including behavioural, metabolic and functional readouts · Investigate intracellular and inflammatory signalling pathways using Western blot, RT-qPCR, tissue dissection and protein/nucleic acid extraction · Lead quantitative analysis, statistical treatment and interpretation of experimental data · Prepare figures, manuscripts and oral presentations; contribute to publication of results as first author |

· Contribute to the preparation of regulatory documents for animal experimentation (APAFIS procedures, project applications) · Co-supervise Master's and PhD students on experimental workflows and data analysis · Develop, standardise and document laboratory protocols; contribute to onboarding of new lab members · Participate in lab meetings, institute seminars and international conferences · Apply for competitive postdoctoral fellowships (EMBO, MSCA, FRM) with the support of the host team · Contribute to collaborative projects within the institute and with external partners |

Specific Requirements or Constraints |
· Work with laboratory animals (mice), including handling, dosing, surgery and tissue collection; valid training for animal experimentation required (equivalent to French levels applicable to design and execution of procedures) · Occasional work outside standard hours, including weekends, imposed by experimental schedules and animal monitoring · Work in a BSL-2 environment and compliance with institutional hygiene, safety and ethical regulations · Position based at IGBMC, Illkirch; travel for conferences and collaborative visits · Working language English; French not required but recommended for daily life |

Skills/Qualifications |
· PhD in neurosciences, physiology, pharmacology, immunology or a related biomedical field · Documented experience in preclinical in vivo rodent models, including experimental design and execution · Certified training in animal experimentation (functions covering design, execution and care) · Proficiency in molecular and biochemical techniques: Western blot, RT-qPCR, tissue dissection, protein and nucleic acid extraction, analysis of inflammatory and intracellular signalling pathways · Experience in pharmacological approaches, including inflammasome-targeting compounds · Advanced quantitative and statistical skills (GraphPad Prism, R, SPSS or equivalent) · Track record of first-author peer-reviewed publications · Experience in supervising junior researchers and in protocol standardisation · Autonomy, rigour, strong motivation and ability to work in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment |
